"SPECCHIO ASIMMETRICO - NEW SOUND PERSPECTIVES"

“Specchio Asimmetrico. New Sound Perspectives” is a project on Stylus Contrabass, an innovative instrumental musical using extremely advanced technology but having a very natural sound.
Lo Stylus Contrabass came about from the collaboration between  Zanotti (bassist), Mauro Marchesini (lutist) and Paolo Betti (bassist, computer expert and lutist); it’s characterized by a generation of experimental sound connected to special pick-up opticals, and integrated by the Midi signal to be able to create endless timbre frequencies.
The music, by Tiziano Zanotti (bassist, double bass player and  Bolognese composer) and Nicola Ciarmatori, was especially produced for the Stylus Contrabass, experimenting this so very particular instrument’s infinite possibilities. The use of pre-recorded electronic material and the successively elaborated live performance creates a multiplicity of sounds, rending the performance immensely energetic and varied.
The video-installations synchronized with the music, by video designer Diego Gavioli will be showing images of external reality and are reflected in the music (or vice-versa), producing not always exact correspondences, asymmetrical.
