Mykki Blanco

Born Michael David Quattlebaum Jr., he is (in no particular order) a singer-songwriter, poet, multidisciplinary artist, activist, and performer. Refusing to be pigeonholed into any single genre, he let their declared list of influences define their reach—from Lil’ Kim to GG Allin, Jean Cocteau to Marilyn Manson, and Geto Boys to Anaïs Nin, by way of Lauryn Hill and Rihanna. An early tour with Death Grips and a series of oblique, elusive records blending rap, pop, and twisted electronics give a vague idea of the whole, while waiting for a disruptive live performance that is impossible to put into words.
